By implementing strategies from our reading program in the rest of the curriculum, teachers can have a huge impact on student learning.
Teachers using conventional teaching methods, can make students grow 1.5 years for 1 year’s teaching.

I can help you increase that to over 2 years growth for one year’s teaching.

Subscriptions and Support.

For every 10 student subscriptions purchased by parents, I offer one teacher subscription to be used in classes.

For schools using 50 subscriptions or more, I offer my time, training, or coaching.
Support can be customised depending on the needs and location of your school.

Possible topics for training and coaching could include:

Shared Reading
Shared Writing
Guided Reading
Setting up Language routines that builds independence
Using a balanced Literacy approach
Using strategies such as goal setting, classroom discussion and effective feedback to help students show above the expected growth.

What is required
from the school?

Principals who are keen to improve their reading all round will join the Elite-Ed team and call their parents for a face to face or zoom meeting. We will then present the program to them.

If there are many parents wanting to join, then it would be beneficial if a teacher is allocated to become part of the team. This teacher will work closely with Elite-ed to ensure the effective implementation of the program, as well as assisting with collecting progress data. Such a teacher could also continue to run the program in the school, in subsequent years.

The efficacy of the program and the reliability of the data is dependent on the consistent and effective use of strategies, tools, and resources and effective collaboration between team members, be it Principals, Teachers and or Parents.

A child’s reading success and progress is very much dependent on parent/tutor involvement and interaction. Learning to read at school, is not enough. Reading on their own, is not enough. The focus is on thinking and questioning and this can only be done together with an adult or competent reader.
